Bonjour à VOUS!!!
Hello there. I am excited that you have found this page! My name is Sandra Beck and I teach in Stoughton, Mass. I have been a French teacher for a year and half now. Everyday as students entered the classroom, I observed 3 particular points.
The Flipped French Learning Space addresses my 3 points and many other observations that I have made. I created this website to be incorporated into my Flipped French Classroom. If you are still wondering what a Flipped Classroom is please visit the Home page or the bottom of this page. I have provided visuals below.
Now, "flipping" a class is not going to solve everything we encounter as teachers everyday but it WILL...
All this to SAY, ENJOY the website. Please use and share this website with anyone that you know may need it! Many of the videos ARE NOT MY VIDEOS. They were taken from YouTube from other educators that did an excellent job expressing what I wanted to express to my students. Some videos, worksheets and ideas MAY BE YOURS! Thank you to all the teachers who have worked so hard to create this material. If you happen to find a video, a worksheet, ideas that are YOURS, please let me know. If you want me to give you CREDIT, I WILL! If you would like for me to REMOVE IT, I WILL. Creating this website could not have been done without your ideas! THANK YOU!
Enjoy et SALUT!
Sandra Beck
P.S. If you find any errors, I'm ONLY HUMAN. Please let me know. Because I can't give you extra credit, I promise to give my students the extra credit! ;-)
Hello there. I am excited that you have found this page! My name is Sandra Beck and I teach in Stoughton, Mass. I have been a French teacher for a year and half now. Everyday as students entered the classroom, I observed 3 particular points.
- Students came in speaking English and when class was over they left speaking English.
- TIME IS NEVER enough (says every teacher)!
- To learn a language, students need to be able to REVIEW the material ON-DEMAND!
The Flipped French Learning Space addresses my 3 points and many other observations that I have made. I created this website to be incorporated into my Flipped French Classroom. Now, "flipping" a class is not going to solve everything we encounter as teachers everyday but it WILL...
- Allow me to individualize learning for each student.
- Allow students to take responsibility for their learning.
- Allow me to focus on students' different skills while the class is still learning.
- Allow students to center in on their strengths and weaknesses.
- Allow me to work with different groups each and everyday.
- Allow my students to practice speaking, writing, listening and working on becoming fluent in the French language
- Allow me to TEACH even when students are at home!!!
- Allow students to review the material as many times as they want!

Flip Your Classroom Summary:
It started with a simple observation: students need their teachers present to answer questions or to provide help if they get stuck on an assignment; they don't need their teachers present to listen to a lecture or review content. From there, authors Jonathan Bergmann and Aaron Sams began the flipped classroom-students watched recorded lectures for homework and completed their assignments, labs, and tests in class with their teacher available. What Bergmann and Sams found was that their students demonstrated a deeper understanding of the material than ever before. This is the authors story, and they're confident it can be yours too. Learn what a flipped classroom is and why it works and get the information you need to flip a classroom. |
Must read!!!You'll also learn the flipped mastery model, where students learn at their own pace-furthering opportunities for personalized education. This simple concept is easily replicable in any classroom, doesn't cost much to implement, and helps foster self-directed learning. Once you flip, you wont want to go back!
