What are Auxiliary Verbs? What are French Auxiliary Verbs? Auxiliary verbs are also known as 'helping verbs'. The three most common auxiliary verbs are: be, do and have. PAST PARTICIPLE
What are Past Participle? What are Past Participle in French? A past participle indicates past or completed action or time. It is often called the 'ed' form as it is formed by adding d or ed, to the base form of regular verbs, however it is also formed in various other ways for irregular verbs. It can be used to form a verb phrase as part of the present perfect tense. IN FRENCH ... Write them down! TAKE NOTES FROM YOUR BOOK!

Practice:
1. COPY THIS LIST! 2. Compare this list to the list on page 123 of your textbook. 3. Highlight the verbs that are similar in your notebooks. 4. Find the PAST TENSE translation. 5. Find any similarities: i.e. AVOIR, VOIR and POUVOIR 6. Take notes from page 123. |
The TOP video gives you examples on how to use the different irregular verbs in sentences. The BOTTOM video gives you the conjugation of prendre. All the verbs, you have seen so far, will use AVOIR! (Except the few that you will learn in Leçon 8)
